Enabling real-time coordination between dispatchers and home healthcare workers
I led the end-to-end product design for this two-sided platform, connecting dispatch teams with field clinicians in real time. MedPath streamlines scheduling, task completion, and team coordination.
-
Platforms: Dispatcher web app + clinician mobile/tablet app
-
Role: Product Designer (end-to-end ownership)
-
Outcomes:
-
Reduced missed appointments from 28% to 3%
-
Helped field workers stay on top of appointments and documentation in real time
-
Context
Context
Home healthcare companies rely on dispatch teams to coordinate daily visits while field clinicians manage schedules, navigation, and patient documentation on the move.
Problem
Existing workflows were split across tools, creating delays and missed communication, which led to information about appointments being lost between office teams and clinicians in the field.
Goal
Design a two-sided system that kept both teams aligned in real time while reducing operational friction.

My Role
As the sole designer, I owned this project end-to-end from discovery, feature definition, UX architecture, brand identity, to full UI design for both the clinician mobile portal and the dispatcher/admin web app.
The project ran for 8 months and involved minor pivots as we expanded the scope to support more dispatcher needs. Each pivot and release was supported by several rounds of user interviews and testing.
Discovery & Research
I interviewed practitioners, dispatchers, and admin staff to map their workflows and understand how healthcare coordination actually works in practice, as well as their pain points.
Since features were released in sprints, I also ran follow-up interviews to gather feedback and refine the system over time (this is my favorite part of my job).

Branding
I went with a clean, simple look to keep the interface approachable and stress-free. The blue highlights were meant to signal trust and calm, to bring the user some comfort when things get hectic.
Outcome
MedPath was well received by our partners: healthcare staff now had a single, reliable place to coordinate, reducing stress and confusion. By focusing on real workflows, the platform became something people actually wanted to use.
I left the company while the product was still quite new, so I didn’t get to continue gathering long-term user feedback. I would have loved to leverage tools like DataDog to track usage and identify further opportunities for improvement.
One remaining challenge was loading times, since the backend infrastructure—built on Microsoft BI and the Salesforce Field Service App—could take up to a minute to display data. While this didn’t prevent adoption, it highlighted areas for potential optimization.
